How to Prepare for Your Waxing Appointment

At Honey Wax Bar, we want every guest to feel comfortable and confident. Proper prep ensures smoother results, less discomfort, and longer-lasting smoothness. Here’s everything you need to know before your appointment.

Aftercare Matters

For the smoothest results, follow proper aftercare. Your esthetician can recommend exfoliating products and ingrown-hair solutions tailored to your skin.

Let Your Hair Grow

For the best results, hair should be at least ¼ inch long (about a grain of rice). Avoid trimming before your appointment.

Exfoliate Gently

Use a gentle exfoliator 1–2 days prior. This removes dead skin and helps prevent ingrown hairs.

Hydrate Your Skin

Keep the area moisturized leading up to your appointment, but avoid lotions and oils on the day of your wax.

Avoid Sun Exposure

Avoid tanning beds and sunbathing for 24–48 hours before waxing. We cannot wax sunburned or irritated skin.

Optional Pain Management

You may take ibuprofen 30–60 minutes before your appointment if desired. Avoid aspirin unless prescribed.

Plan Around Your Cycle

You may be more sensitive during your period or the week beforehand. You can still be waxed — just wear a clean tampon or cup.
